Family Photos at the University of Tampa | Rainy Day Session

As a Tampa family photographer, I love finding moments that mean something more than a pretty photo. This session at the historic University of Tampa campus — Victorian architecture, manicured gardens, a light rain falling the whole time — turned out to be one of those.

Soft Light, Perfect Timing

Overcast skies act like a giant softbox, and this rainy morning gave us exactly that kind of light. A delightful toddler carried the session with nonstop curiosity, lighting up every frame she was in.

A Session That Was Also a Gift

This one held extra meaning: my client wanted to thank her son's grandmother for the support she'd given during those first difficult months of parenthood. The session doubled as a heartfelt gift — a way of saying thank you through portraits the whole family will keep.

The Henry B. Plant Museum Backdrop

We spent part of the shoot on the sprawling porch of the Henry B. Plant Museum, a national historic landmark right on campus. The grandmother's bright orange shirt against the soft, diffused light gave the images a real pop of color against all that historic detail.
